About Our Firm
Kostiw Law Group, PC is a full service law firm based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Should you need our services in regards to a civil lawsuit or other adversarial matter, our Nevada attorneys can practice in any court in Nevada, state or federal. We are typically making appearances in Clark County District Court (Las Vegas), United States District Court, District of Nevada (Federal Court), Washoe County District Court (Reno), and The Supreme Court of Nevada (Carson City). Additionally, we have associates in many other jurisdictions as necessary to fulfill your needs.
If you need some professional guidance, no matter where you are located, don't hesitate to get in touch with us, especially when your matters involve federal or non-state specific issues such as trademarks, copyrights, or Internet law; or securities registration, exemption or fraud.
And of course, if you are outside Nevada and would like to benefit from chartering your new corporation or LLC here, or have an existing Nevada business entity and need some legal guidance, or just need to appoint a new registered agent, give us a call, we can help.
Kostiw Law Group, PC was founded in 2004 by Vincent J. Kostiw with an eye on a modern approach to providing legal services, with an intent to break the mold of the old stuffy, static and impersonal law firm. The old law firm model was (and still is) broken with huge outlays for lawyer and staff salaries, office rent, and dusty legal libraries taking up premium priced real estate; coupled with aging accounts receivables, and itemized accounting for every photocopy and paper clip provided to the client, creating enormous administrative costs. One way or another, this enormous overhead will be paid out of your pocket should you choose to retain one of these "dinosaur" law firms.
The practice of law is much like the practice of medicine, you need the right professional to care for a particular issue. You wouldn't go to a foot doctor with chest pains, so why would you go to a criminal lawyer for civil litigation or business needs?
Kostiw Law Group, PC takes a team approach to assisting you with your legal needs by working with a collective of legal professionals (the "Group"), calling on each team member's respective talents to match the right team member with your particular need. In addition, the team members utilize modern technology to communicate with each other and with you which reduces file clutter, printing and postage costs, time delays, and more. No, we don't charge you for a paper clip.
Although we do maintain traditional office space, we often employ the approach of "floating" or "virtual" offices, which drastically reduces our overhead costs; cost savings which we pass on to you.
Our lawyers and support team members don't have any billable hour requirements, and are not employees in the traditional sense of the word. Most are in business for themselves, maintaining their own independent practices. Like you, they understand the dynamics of running a business.
This approach towards cost savings is just that, costs savings. We are not "discount lawyers" by any means. We provide quality services at competitive prices that take into consideration the complexity and specialized nature of the services provided, and the professional's experience in the matter.
This approach promotes efficiency which helps lower your overall legal costs.

Photography and Image Rights.
So you went on vacation and took some great photographs with your new digital camera. Some are of famous buildings, some have people in them, some don’t. You post them on your website and get comments from your friends about how great the photos are and that you should sell them to a magazine.

Copyright Preregistration.

Internet Domain Names as Trademarks.
Registering and using a domain name is easy, just be the first person to register it, or purchase the registration rights from someone else. As long as you pay your registration fee each year you can use the domain name as you wish, provided you are not breaking the law or infringing on another’s rights. However, using a domain name in commerce to the point that it can receive federal trademark registration is not so easy, and in some cases not possible.

Obscenity Laws.
With the ever shortening attention span of the public, entertainers and entertainment providers keep pushing the envelope, presenting content that is often more “edgy” and outrageous than ever. Content that was taboo just a decade ago is finding its way not only into satellite/cable broadcasting but also onto the public airwaves as part of popular primetime traditional network programs.
