Copyright Forms Have Changed: The Latest Development.
U.S. Copyright forms have changed along with the filing fees.
The most popular copyright forms for basic claims, Form TX, Form VA, Form PA, Form SE, and Form SR, have been replaced by new Form CO.
Form CO is a fill-in form, and it replaces Forms TX, VA, PA, SE, and SR, using 2-D barcode scanning technology.
You must have Adobe Acrobat 8 or greater and fill out the form on your computer, as every entry to the form changes the barcode.
You cannot print this one out and use a pen to enter the information, that will not create the necessary barcode.
Simply complete Form CO on your computer, print it out, and mail it along with a check or money order and your deposit.
The fee for a basic registration on Form CO is $50.
Group registrations and other types of filings still use traditional paper forms, however the filing fees are higher for paper filings.
